Coordinator Vs. Planner

A facility or venue coordinator is solely responsible for the venue of the event They make sure the venue is clean, all paid services available and accessible to you, they  also protect the facility from any damage or liability.
An Event /wedding planner is an extension of the bride and groom. They are there to make sure all the desires of the married couple is met. For instance, MinkaEvent planners are the go to person for everything on the event day.We make sure the bride and groom, family/guest don’t have to worry about the logistics. They get to be part of the celebration.

5 Reasons you need a Wedding Day coordinator

Let’s face it, weddings are stressful. We call it a good kind of stress. The wedding day should be fun, elegant, beautiful and memorable day. All the little details that make the day different from all the other weddings are all in your head … no one knows about them.

Let me tell you a story

The bride and groom took a whole year or more planning their wedding. The month before the venue  the couple called to make final plans with the venue only to be told the hall is no longer available because they did not make the necessary deposits on time. It had been rented out to another couple.

WHAT!!!!! This is a disaster.

With no wedding planner or coordinator this couple had no clue of what needed to be done to secure this spot. If they had us they would have known that venue was not the most reliable anyway.
With no place to go, the couple were given a smaller room, all the guests were cramped in this tight space and all the decor and arrangements they had made just did not fit into this small make shift room
The couple was an hour late for the ceremony because they had to take care of details at the reception hall and no coordinator to create a timeline and facilitate it . The DJ was not sure were to set up. The bride had to cut her photo shoot short because she had so many questions to answer. Mom should have been able to help but she had to deal with the guests and besides she was suppose to be celebrating as well.
It was a mayhem!!!!

Would you say you know some of the reasons you need a wedding planner or at least a wedding day coordinator?

  1. Your wedding coordinator checks with all vendors periodically and at least 2 weeks before the ceremony to make sure everything is in place. Might even save you some money on those last minute items you thought you needed.
  2. Your wedding coordinator creates a timeline for your event from rehearsal, to ceremony, to reception and makes sure the bridal party is onboard with the plan.
  3. Your wedding coordinator makes sure you are picture perfect at all times and you have all the shots you want in a timely manner.
  4. Your wedding coordinator also stands as that neutral person between your dreams and you mother- in- law’s outrageous wishes. You get the picture.
  5. Your wedding coordinator basically is your own personal assistant for that day. All your plans are unleashed just like you envisioned it to be whilst you are having fun.

If you are blessed like I was to have a planner /coordinator like my sister-friend at my wedding, go for it. Hand it all over to them. You would be glad you did.
You are just not sure they can get it done, give MINKA Events a call. We have the experience and the best part is; we love what we do.
